  Neighbor has 4 dogs running loose all different hours, have called several times, nothing has been accomplished so far. Have video coverage of incidents.

  Had an officer come out to pick up a sickly neighborhood cat in order to euthanize. It was the only option for the animal given it's state. I was told by the officer that I could "get over" my caring for animals if I had to do the job of an animal control officer, and that struck me as the whole thing that's wrong with animal shelters. Inhumane, unfeeling officers are the problem, not defenseless animals. Please ROWAN county learn from your horrible reviews and I dont know maybe train your officers just a little bit of compassion!!!!!

  Where animal abuse is legally funded by the government. This place is a disgrace and the people working here should have to endure the same living conditions they subject these innocent animals to.

  I reached out to the shelter and had a pleasant phone conversation with a lady there-I was already in the car and figured I would just pop by. I arrive and no one was at the front desk. After waiting a few minutes I was greeted by a girl with a horrible attitude-"we close in 12 minutes and adoptions are done today." The staff proceeded to turn off the lights and close up the building when I was trying to ask questions. I understand that when people come in close to closing up, it's far from ideal (had the woman on the phone told me their hours, I wouldn't have gone at all) but the body language and attitude of the employees was more than standoffish-it was purely disrespectful. I have not had a more unwelcoming experience with a shelter/humane society/adoption agency. The only reason I would suggest anyone consider this shelter is to SAVE these dogs from the employees because they clearly aren't interested in helping them.
